Water distribution company of the Ivory Coast

Created in 1960, SODECI, the water distribution company of the Ivory Coast, was the first water distribution company in Africa to be privatised. It produces, transports and distributes drinking water in urban areas of the Ivory Coast. Since 1999, SODECI has operated and maintained the sanitation facilities in the town of Abidjan. SODECI provides drinking water to 2 millions customers and sanitation to 1 million customers. SODECI operates under lease contracts.

46.07% owned by Eranove, SODECI is a listed company on the regional Stock Exchange (BRVM).

SODECI was rated AA- (long term) and A1- (short term) by the financial ratings agency Bloomfield Investment in 2016. SODECI was also the first ISO 9001 certified private public service company in Africa.

In order to allow customers to keep up to date with water leaks and consumption, the Ivory Coast Water Development Company (SODECI) wants to provide almost 50 000 households in the Abidjan network with smart meters.
